We were beyond excited at Kids on Track to be able to hold our Easter Activity Camp at Farleigh. Having missed too many last year, we were bursting with plans.
When you start an activity camp with Sharky & George, you know it’s going to be an absolute cracker. Camp fires in the woods, crack the code, tug-of-war, bush craft, water bombs… the list goes on and on and on and on! And we were exhausted!
Day 2 saw us get the boxing gloves on and learn to pack a punch. We rode bikes through the woods, strummed our guitars and beat the drums with Gus. There was no time to rest – our Kids on Track volunteers created a pizzeria and all we had to do was choose a topping and eat!
Last but not least, day 3 comprised an Easter egg hunt on Fortress Farleigh followed by a feast of a Sunday lunch cooked by the fabulous Farleigh chefs. This meal was funded by another generous donation from Connect4Communities, an initiative from Hampshire County Council. We were also able to deliver Sunday roast ingredients to our families the following week so they could re-create the same meal at home with their families.
Our team of volunteers were as fabulous as ever, coping again with social distancing, a lot of handwashing and the odd unannounced snow flurry!
