Well this one really was THE BEST….. An Easter Camp full to the brim with activities, trips, chocolate and more chocolate.
54 x excited children,
38 x hard working volunteers,
3 x GB Judo experts,
1 x space dome,
8 x dogs for the dog show,
25 x nerf guns for the nerf war
450,00000000 x chocolate eggs – (well it seemed like that),
1 x exhausted committee.
rain, sun, rain and a bit more rain – didn’t matter, we loved it.
Day 1 and we set foot in the space dome where we were transported on a cosmic journey exploring the wonders of the Universe. We learnt about planet formation and the life of a star . It really was out of this world! Tag rugby, led by Fergus not quite GB in our opinion better! Fergus taught us all some dynamic moves for the rugby pitch, the kids loved it, 6 Nations eat your heart out it was all happening on the Astro at Farleigh. The Easter Bunny was busy, a scavenger hunt, a lot of running around the grounds with the handsome reward of too many Easter Eggs, huge thanks to Roxy at Pure Gym for organising and donating all the eggs.
Day 2 involved some fearsome nerf battles brilliantly led by Guy B, so much excitement, more running around in the woods, capture the flag, strange that Kiki was the main target?!
We cooked a stir fry, we made pinboards, we learned some judo moves with Tim and two young GB representatives.
And finally, the one and only KoT dog show. Barking, jumps, walking, stroking, brushing our furry friends was quite simply the BEST activity. (By the way, we highly highly recommend Francesca or Jules if you’re thinking of having a dog show)
For our final day we were treated to an inspiring day at Bulford Army Camp. We held rifles, we climbed all over tanks, we observed, we got the kit on, we attempted some army exercises, we ate ration packs. This really was an incredible day, thank you so much to all those who organised it.
PS We think we may have 50 new army recruits lined up.
