Well our Easter camp has just finished and an AMAZING three days was had by all. There was literally something for everyone: we played tennis, football and badminton in glorious sunshine; we painted stunning self-portraits and made funky beaded necklaces and bracelets; we became master chocolatiers, crafting our own delicious Easter eggs and chocolate nests with mini eggs – all professionally wrapped up in cellophane and tied with yellow ribbon and we danced till we dropped to the tune of George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’ – giving a mass dance display on the lawn.
Sixteen new kids joined us and although a couple were a little nervous on the first morning, they were soon joining in with the old hands and having just as much fun. On Wednesday afternoon we told the kids that on Thursday we were off on a surprise trip. In the end though, it will have been the parents at pick up who had the biggest surprise but more of that later.
As ever, huge thanks to ALL of our wonderful, superstar volunteers but in particular to Mike, Paddy and Jasper – our team leaders, to Dessie and Louisa our chefs in the kitchen, to Martin for tennis and badminton, to Kate for inspiring us to paint and to Molly for teaching us all to dance! And finally, thanks to all the kids for coming – we loved having you all at Kids on Track.
