Home What we do Trips & visits

As an alternative to the junior activity camps, we have introduced several residential trips and day activities.

Trips and visits are for children who have moved onto our Senior Programme. These include trips to Magdalen Farm (residential), Kimpton Racing Stables, Bulford Army camp, Chalke Valley History Festival to name but a few. As we develop this programme, new opportunities are constantly evolving. We couldn’t believe our luck recently when a local pub offered hospitality training for ten children over the summer holidays. Three of which now have a job there!

Recent trips

Houses of Parliament

We had the most incredible trip to London to visit the Houses of Parliament this Easter. We had a great tour of the House of Commons and Lords and even managed to fit in a sighting of Downing Street with a speedy trip to the Horse Guards too. A huge thanks to Caroline Nokes (MP) and her team for giving us the opportunity.

The Old Bailey

In September, we were invited to the Old Bailey by KC Judith Chan for a ‘No knives, better lives’ workshop. This was fascinating, sad, harsh but also an incredible insight into the lives of those who have been affected by knife crime. Thank you Judge Judith for this wonderful opportunity, we came away reflective but extremely grateful to have been part of the workshop.

Magdalen Farm

Every summer we pack our bags about three weeks early because we get so excited about our Magdalen Farm trip. Thanks to Allegra’s Ambition we take ten children down to Somerset to stay on the Farm.

We don’t stop for more than about four minutes during the whole three days. We treasure hunt, we play team games, we build rafts, we collect fresh eggs for breakfast, we make pizzas, we feed the animals, we go down the mud slide again and again and again and we toast marshmallows. It’s the best trip ever. Thank you Allegra’s Ambition for giving our children this incredible opportunity.

Kimpton Stables

We couldn’t believe our luck when we arrived at Kimpton Stables to be shown around by Izzie Beckett. We watched the horses train, we tried our luck on a training saddle, we met Rafe, we learnt about their very own horse whispering horse and we ate donuts. What more could we ask for, the best after school treat ever. THANK YOU SO MUCH Izzie and Rafe.

PS Rumour has it we met a royal horse.
